MULLET HEM

I'M LOVING THE NEW MULLET HEMS!! I love that you still have a floor length, elegant dress and show leg at the same time! It gives off a summer vibe in the all seasons. I like that you can dress the hem up with killer heels and oversized jewellery, or dress it down with casual bright flats and a vintage satchel.

 

All the images above show the contrast of bright vibrant colour with the mix of dull accessories. I love that you can have both midi and floor length. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE!

PARKERRRRRRRRRRRRS

I WANT A PARKER.... that's a bit extreme but I really want a Parker coat for the winter season! the big oversized hood always reminds me of winter also I love the boyish, relaxed style to the coat and also the green rustic colour reminds me of earthly themes. Parkers will always be in fashion and that's what I love about them the most!

VMA's 2011

I have been looking at the fashion from the VMA's 2011. Trust me the fashion ranges from elegant to complete extreme! Firstly I want to start with my favourites..


Beyonce
Beyonce's look is one of my favourites from the night as it is bright, elegant and shows off her new baby bump! her dress is a Lanvin dress from the Fall collection 2011. Her accessories complement the dress perfectly with her nude strap platform heels and OTT bling earrings and matching cuff. SIMPLY STUNNING.

SELENA GOMEZ

Selena Gomez looks stunning in a Julien MacDonald dress. The dress shows off her gorgeous figure and cuts nicely around her neck line shows of her womanly figure. Being young lets her get away with having her hair in a thrown back style showing off her cheek bones and young face. She has complemented the dress with GOLD accessories including Brian Atwood heels and a gold cuff, cutch and simple drop earrings.

ASHLEY RICKARDS

Ashley Rickards has shown that simple fitted dresses can have a HUGE impact. The olive green colour contrasted with the statment feather and jewelled detail, make the midi-length BCBG dress a huge hit. I love the simple fit of the dress and how she has let the dress do the talking, with plain nude heels and a simple cuff, definailty a statment dress.

KATIE HOLMES

Another simplistic style that had a huge impact. Katie Holmes looked gorgeous in a black lace crochet dress, the mid length Azzedine Alaia dress showed a very pretty, girly style for Katie, showing off her long legs and the thick black waist band adds in a simplistic style. The dress is well styled with camel lace up booties heels, bright statement heels that don't clash with her simple style just add to the overall look.

AND THE BEST OF THE WORSE....

NICKI MINAJ

I admire her confidence to step out in this hideous outfit. But on the other hand was there not a mirror around after she put this on?  The colour of the candy colours and the fake jewels just highlights the terrible mix of fabrics and outrageous sytle.

MILEY CYRUS

Although I admire Robert Cavalli s designs, this dress is a huge mistake for Miley to wear the pattern on the dress looks like a backdrop from a film, that has just been wrapped around her as she was walking off set. She is dressing way over her age, she should be in short vibrant pieces, not a long drapping dull gown!

KIM KARDASHIAN

I LOVE Kim Kardashian, but her outfit at the VMAs reminded me of a piece from star trek, it was a rustic sliver mesh from head to toe. Kim has a flawless figure that she should be flaunting, but this dress highlights the part that we don't usually see. A shorter simple dress would of made her look complete and maybe something alot more brighter to complement her young cheek bones.

The Good, The Bad & The Ugly!

UNI, UNI, UNI!!!

ARGHHHH... Reality has finally hit that I am off to uni in less than a month! Its scary to think I'm off somewhere new, with new people, new surroundings and new commitments! Although I have 3 assignments to do already (one of which is a 500 word essay) haha, I'm VERY happy. One of the assignments I'm excited about is a trend board on autumn/winter 2011.  I am LOVING the new animal print trend, theVivienne Westwood Red Label.. collections for autumn/winter 2011 shows the quirky style of the bright vibrant animal prints with the contrast of old traditional tailoring. 

Also, FUR is a must have in the winter collections and Sarah Burton's collection for Alexander McQueen, shows the mix of fur and layered rich, raw fabrics that show a very unique and modern twist for a winter collection. The layering of the fabric highlights the sense of warmth for the winter months. 

Another trend that I am LOVING is rich sixties, Mary Poppins tailoring. The big exaggrated buttons and the tight fitted waists, also the see-through boning and flapper collars. Louis Vuitton autumn/winter collection, clearly shows the old-era traditional tailoring which i LOVE.

That is the trends that i'm loving at the moment. I can't wait to start my assignments and of course BIRMINGHAM CITY UNIVERSITY 2011. SO excited!!! 

Happiness :)

Well its been a while since I blogged, so thought I'd update :). I have a two week break over Easter which at the minute I'm loving! Stress-free! Aha, I've confirmed my uni choice which I'm VERY scared about! But BCU it is :) I just hope it's the right choice for me. Over all it's been a great start to the week the only downer is knowing I have work all weekend, but hey money's money! Aha and mote money mean more clothes. I'm hoping for a new job soon something ALOT more fixed and reliant. I'm excited for Easter and also my little camping trip in the may bank holiday! I hope everyones well! Loving xxx

Monday Morning... :/

It's 9:10 on a monday morning,  I'm currently in college thinking how am I going to pass this course!? Although I'm doing my final major project which I get to choose my own brief and to create 3 garments. So far one garment is complete and two are in the process of making, so not a bad job so far! I'm loving be able to do my own brief and using my own ideas to make me own outcomes, instead of following a boring brief and a set outcome. I LOVE fashion, it does make me smile.. :) but also makes me very stressed! aha i love being able to mix different textures and using raw materials to create something unique. At the moment my main inspiration is the new GHD advert which is based on the fairytale cinderella. The advert which I've already posted. The different twist from the classic fairytale was my main inspiration, I also LOVE the fact that it shows a strong women with attitude! I personally think all women should have this attitude! :)

Good Morning World....

It's bright and early on a sunday morning, the sun is coming through my window and its mothers day! what a lovely start to the day. Like to say that i love my mommy ange lots! and she is picking up my style, she borrowed my nude shoes last night bless her! aha, looking recently into celeb fashion, i'm lovinggggg... Jessie J! now she is one hot momaa!, and of course J-Lo has made a come back for 41 she looks fantastic!

Now thats what i call HOT! aha... also as i was flicking through yesterdays 'buzz' magazine which i got out of the paper i came across this picture...

Now that is what i call a man. Jack O'connell is an ideal man for me! Anyway moving on from my celeb crushes, last night i had a nandoss! and i must say i was inpressed. (but i love nandos so thats probs why) aha! I found out some news last night also that might have changed me as a person, but as they say., 'when life gets hard, suck it in and carry on'

Right, my first blog! aha tbf i've had quite a fun packed week! It's made me so excited for the future. I CANNOT wait to leave college and move on to uni, even if i am staying in birmingham i'm just so excited for a new change and new experiences. Friday we all went out to celebrate a friends birthday, i love getting dolled up for a night out (i think its the best part) aha! well the night consisted of propaganda, my lovely boyfriend, me being a drunkness mess and the funniest drive thru experience i had ever had! so all in all it was a good night! I've got to say things have been a bit distant lately, but after a good night out everythings came back together which i'm happy about, right anyway i'm off to do late mothers day shopping, wish me luck!
